About Last Night!

Join me on a journey through Monterey at night.

If you are going for a walk or on a romantic date, Monterey is surrounded by that vibe.  A small colonial town surrounded by Cypress forests on one end and scenic ocean views on the other.

Indeed one can be in the city and still feel connected with its natural allure, the perfect location to show your romantic side.

Take off your stiletto and wear something comfortable!

1. Sunset by the bay.

There is nothing more romantic than watching the sunset at the edge of the world. Lover's Point Park, provides the perfect scene that adds that touch of magic to a kiss.

Asilomar beach Runs for miles along the peninsula and there is plenty of space to picnic as the sun heads past California to Japan.

Walk by the ocean, find some shells, feed the squirrels and seagulls. Grab a chair, have some good snacks, feel the breeze, and enjoy the colors of the sky as the sun disappears.

2. Shop, dine and dance with live bands

While you are at the Cannery row, stay in luxury hotels like the InterContinental , Spindrift Inn, or Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa, where you can enjoy the beautiful overlook towards the Pacific Ocean.

As the sun goes down, the music gets louder, people get wilder as they dance and sing along with live bands at Sly McFly restaurant located at the heart of the strip.

The Fish Hopper restaurant and Louie Linguini's restaurant are conveniently located to dine in and the beach is always there if you wish to feel the sand between your toes.

Tip: parking is limited, however, after 8pm, parking is free.

Downtown is one of the most visited places to shop, dine, and explore. Some places to consider are Pacific Grove, the Carmel-by-the-Sea.

If you are looking for an outdoor meal, surrounded by beautiful flowers, where you can have an intimate dining experience away from tourists, visit The Barnyard.

Feeling jazzy? We got you covered at Cibo Italian restaurant located in downtown Monterey, across the street, is the Portola hotel and Spa, If you wander around, you will see a couple of shops and restaurants that offer different touches of the night.

3. Watch the Sea Otters and Seals

Perhaps the coolest thing you can do walk down to the coast guard pier where the Osteria Al Mare is located. There you can watch the sea otters and seals swim and rest.

Even if you had to fly across the country to get here, it would be worth it to watch the otters floating around holding hands. To view the seals basking in the sun.

It is truly an enduring experience with the local fauna.

4. Return to the Past

While you're walking around the Old Fisherman’s Wharf, stop by the custom-house and the Monterey State Historic Park and see how people once lived in the past.

There are a lot of museums around Monterey to visit. We have the Monterey Museum of Arts, the Steinbeck’s Spirit of Monterey Wax Museum, MHAA Salvador Dali opens daily from 11 am-8 pm,

Tip: Selfieville is just around the corner and it is only open on Monday 11 am-2 pm only.

5. Take a Long Walk by the Bay

Breathe in the fresh air and exhale all your worries

The sound of the water is very relaxing and calms someone down. Take a long walk by the bay and be in the moment. Find your little piece of heaven, just you, the seals and waves hitting the rocks.

Feel the wind touch your face, a gentle reminder that you are alive. Sometimes to be alone and be free from everyone is the thing we all need. Turn off your phone and meditate.
