Explore Bacalar!

Let's go on a 5-day trip to Bacalar, Mexico! $1300

Ever heard of Bacalar? Think Tulum, 15 years ago, but with cleaner water, pirate lore, historical and contemporary Mayan culture, and fewer tourists.

Bacalar is a lagoon with the bluest waters in the country and perhaps the Caribbean. We will fly in and out of the Chetumal Airport.

At the time of writing this blog post(08/23/2022), plane tickets are averaging $112 from San Antonio, Texas, WOO!

We will use our short 5-day trip to cool down in the lagoon of Bacalar, learn about Mayan culture and food, and explore the ruins of Calakmul, and a few local cenotes! Let’s break down what that means! If we get lucky and have some time, we might even visit an Indigenous food forest.

  1. Bacalar

This pre-Hispanic era town is home to the oldest living organism in existence.

Food tours and classes

We will be able to explore Mayan cuisine and learn about the significance of the dishes from locals.

Dance Fiesta

Optional, Music is a part of what makes life so great, so why not celebrate with a party?

Calakmul Ruins and Nature Preserve

Calakmul is the most impressive ancient city in Mexico, and one of the least visited. Situated within the jungles of the Yucatan, Calakmul once ruled over a population of 2 million people. We will stay in an eco-lodge for two nights to explore the jungles, visit the pyramids, and jump in a cenote or two.

I am offering this experience for $1300 and the price includes the guide, hotel, transportation, entrance into the national nature preserve of Calakmul, party boat on Bacalar, Mayan Foodie tour

order to express interest in this experience, you can subscribe to the email list and send me an email at go@gocogoes.com with Bacalar as the subject of the email.
